THE ICONIC ISSUE · THE FALL EDIT

The Fall Starter Pack: outfits to start the season in

Fall is very much on my mind. It starts before the weather gets the memo. While I’m in between hot summer days, all it takes is to catch a hint of cool breeze, to long for layers and everything peaceful that is fall. It’s that feeling of changing seasons that comes with new experiences, different days and with that, comes the appropriate outfit.

The right outfit needs to match my energy. To enjoy the changing seasons, to me that belongs to this part of my life, and the moments I want to enjoy. Collecting the right pieces is an important part of this process.

Our first fall rotation is built for the anticipation of fall. To make the most of in-between and to get ready for fall itself. Outfits to wear now, into September and beyond, mixing the pieces still working from summer with the denim, knits, suede and sharper layers we’re ready to bring back.

COFFEE RUN / OUTFIT NOTE

take my cardigan for coffee

This cardigan is my cosy companion for a quick coffee run. It adds just enough of a layer to this basketball tee, which is my latest sporty obsession. The worn-in denim is perfect for transitioning into fall and blends just right colour-wise, while the pointed pump keeps the whole thing from drifting into weekend-only territory.

It is the kind of look that works but keeps you comfy.

WHY IT WORKS

familiar knit / lived-in denim / one grown-up shoe

AFTER PILATES / OUTFIT NOTE

after pilates, before the day decides

The mood stays quiet; the styling stays intentional. A soft cardigan makes the long black trouser feel less severe, while a slim slipper and substantial bag turn ease into an actual outfit.

WHY IT WORKS

short over long / one uninterrupted line / one polished anchor

STYLING INDEX

the outfit logic

Each look starts with the right piece, not a trend. Explore four roles to see why every piece earns its place.

01 / LAYER

soft structure first

The cardigan softens the long black line without making the outfit feel precious.

SUNDAY / OUTFIT NOTE

cosy but chic sunday

Sunday dressing needs no permission to be soft, but it still benefits from a clean shoulder and a proper trouser. The Khaite caban jacket does the framing; the romantic top and chocolate flat keep it warm and personal.

WHY IT WORKS

a firm outer layer / a soft centre / grounded brown details

THE FALL FORMULA

the perfect fall outfit

This is autumn in one controlled palette: army melange, corduroy and deep brown leather. Nothing matches exactly, which is why the textures feel collected rather than coordinated.

WHY IT WORKS

tonal colour / three distinct textures / small precise accessories

LATE BRUNCH

A fine knit and fluid trouser are the easiest answer to a table that may become an afternoon. Pale leather lifts the neutrals, while tiny jewellery keeps the softness from feeling unfinished.

fluid line / pale accessories / a little light near the face

COOL GIRL OPTION

The alternative is quieter but more textural: a brown V-neck against lace, then a simple mule and pale bag. It feels dressed without looking assembled.

WHY IT WORKS

matte knit / transparent lace / clean accessories

SOFT CONTRAST

black and white romance

Black gives the lace dress a boundary. The sweater is intentionally plain, the sandal slim, and the jewellery warm—romantic, but never costume-like.

WHY IT WORKS

strict black / delicate white / restrained gold

HERITAGE, LIGHTENED

fair isle + canvas

The Fair Isle sweater carries all the nostalgia, so everything around it stays lean: a straight jean, a black flat and a canvas bag that feels useful rather than precious.

WHY IT WORKS

one heritage motif / modern denim / practical canvas

AFTERNOON CULTURE

A pale crewneck under a long trench creates the calm backdrop; the flare adds movement and the lizard clutch supplies one highly specific point of view.

WHY IT WORKS

quiet top half / long moving line / one tactile object

PRETTY, WITH WEIGHT

the cutest

A romantic blouse needs something with weight. The leather jacket does that immediately; wool trousers and a serious bag make the sweetness feel lived-in.

THE NEW KEEPERS

new winners

The pieces are new; the formula is not. A precise jacket, chalk top and great jean make a reliable core. Everything else is an object with character, not decoration for decoration's sake.

WHY IT WORKS

strong frame / familiar denim / accessories with identity

PARIS, QUICKLY

hot minute in Paris

The suede coat is the atmosphere. Underneath, fringe adds movement and a tall boot keeps the silhouette direct. The little travel pieces make it feel personal—as if the look has already been somewhere.

one cinematic coat / movement underneath / travel-worn details

ONE LAST THING

the small extras

A bandana is not the outfit; it is the sentence ending. Tie it at the neck, on a bag or around the hair and let the rest stay exactly as it was. The small personal details make all the difference. These are my faves.

small scale / personal details / many ways to wear them
